Privacy Policy
Last updated: 7 October 2026
Large Print Word Searches (“we”, “us”) publishes free printable large print puzzles at largeprintwordsearches.com. This policy explains what information is collected when you visit, why, and what you can do about it.
The short version
- You never need an account, and we never ask you to create one.
- We don’t ask for your name, address or payment details. There is nothing to buy.
- Word lists you type into the word search maker stay in your browser; they are not sent to us.
- We use analytics to see which puzzles people actually print.
- We may show advertising, which involves third-party cookies.
- We don’t sell your personal information.
Information we collect
Information you give us
Only what you choose to send. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write, and we keep it for as long as we need to answer you. We don’t add it to a mailing list.
Information collected automatically
Like nearly every website, our hosting and analytics record technical details of each visit: the pages you view, the page or search that sent you, an approximate location worked out from your IP address (usually city or region, not street level), your browser and device type, screen size, language, and the date and time. We use this in aggregate to see which puzzles are popular, which ones print badly, and where the site is slow.
Analytics and measurement
We use two analytics services:
- Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC), for aggregate traffic measurement, including counting when a puzzle is printed or downloaded. Google processes this data as described in itsprivacy policy. You can opt out on every site with Google’sbrowser add-on.
- Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Corporation), for heatmaps and anonymized session replay, which we use to find layout and readability problems. Clarity masks text you type by default. See Microsoft’sprivacy statement.
Advertising
This site is free and is supported by advertising. Our advertising partners and their vendors may set cookies or similar identifiers in your browser to measure ad performance and, where permitted, to show ads relevant to your interests. They may also receive your IP address, browser details and the pages you view here.
We do not receive or store the personal information these partners collect, and we do not sell your personal information. Where the law requires consent for personalized advertising, including in the EU, the UK and other applicable regions, you will be shown a consent notice, and you can change your choice at any time through that notice. Residents of California and other US states with similar laws may opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for targeted advertising through the same notice, or by emailing us.
You can also opt out of interest-based advertising across the industry atoptout.aboutads.infoand youronlinechoices.eu.
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. This site uses them for analytics, for advertising as described above, and to remember choices such as your response to the consent notice. We don’t use cookies to build a profile of you across unrelated websites.
Every browser lets you block or delete cookies in its settings. Blocking them will not stop you printing or downloading anything here; the puzzles work regardless.
Children’s privacy
This site is written for adults: puzzle fans, older readers, family members, carers, activity coordinators and teachers. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.
How long we keep data
Analytics data is kept in aggregate for up to 14 months and then deleted automatically. Emails are kept only as long as they are useful for answering you.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, object to or restrict how it is used, receive a copy of it, or opt out of its sale or sharing. These rights apply under the EU and UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended, the Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut and Utah consumer privacy acts, and comparable laws elsewhere.
To use any of them, email hello@largeprintwordsearches.com. We will respond within the time the applicable law allows, and we will never charge you or treat you differently for asking. In practice we hold very little that identifies you; usually the quickest remedy is clearing this site’s cookies. If you are in the EU or UK and unhappy with our response, you may complain to your local data protection authority.
Data transfers
Large Print Word Searches is a United States site, served from a global content delivery network, and our analytics and advertising providers are based in the United States. If you visit from outside the US, your technical data is processed there, under the safeguards those providers maintain.
Links to other sites
We sometimes link to other websites. Once you follow a link, that site’s privacy policy applies, not ours.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page, and material changes will be noted on the page itself.
